Valerann is an ITS start-up that automates and optimizes traffic management by transforming roads into data-generating infrastructure. This allows road operators to immediately detect and respond to incidents, predict and mitigate congestion before it occurs, set smarter tolls, and communicate critical information to drivers and vehicles. Using wireless IoT sensory devices installed in the road service, Valerann gathers real-time data from every point in the road. Its cloud-based machine learning algorithms process this information into actionable insights communicated directly to control centers, emergency services, or third-party applications. Dynamic controllable LEDs give visual signals to drivers, while dedicated short-range communications send messages directly to vehicles. All of this occurs automatically, at a mere fraction the cost of existing data-collection systems. Valerann has installed its system on the largest motorways in the US, UK, Spain, and Israel, and has partnered with Jaguar Land-Rover to develop a data marketplace for autonomous vehicles.
